Exporting Google contacts
It is possible to export contacts that are synced to a Google account by directly logging in to the account through a web browser: https://contacts.google.com/
Select the contacts that you want to export.
Once you selected one, you can also click on the option to select All at once
Now to export all selected contacts. click on the upward arrow button towards the top right
It will now offer you to download the contacts into a single file.
Usually contact lists come as .vcf file, but Google contacts seems to provide .csv files by default. Make sure to select vCard instead!
Great, now with the file downloaded, you can transfer it over to the Above Phone and directly import the contacts.
To import a .vcf contacts file into your Above Phone, just use the default Contacts app.

Syncing Google calendars
You can use the following guide to setup a connection to your synced address book & contacts provided by Google. You can also opt to then migrate your data directly onto your phone device or onto a different platform that can offer you syncing.
Privacy disclaimer:
It is possible to keep using your synced address books and calendars provided by Google, even when you keep your phone 'de-googled' otherwise. Please consider the implications of you providing sensitive data to a big tech giant like Google.
Consider exporting Google contacts instead.
Note that it is also possible to have contacts / calendars synced in more private ways by using decentralized & open source solutions, like CardDAV and CalDAV. We provide this service to subscribers of Above Suite.
You can use the following guide to setup a connection to your synced calendars provided by Google. You can also opt to then migrate your data directly onto your phone device or onto a different platform that can offer you syncing.
Step 1: Set up DAVx5
Open DAVx5 from your phone - if you don't have the app installed, you can get it via F-Droid.
Open DAVx5.
If this is the first time you're opening the app, it will ask you to set up the requried permissions for it
> on 'Tasks support' you can select 'I don't need task support' - tasks are integrated into the Fossify Calendar apps (green icon).
> on the 'Permissions' screen, be sure to check all the sliders. On the first one 'Keep permissions' it will forward you to the 'App info' page of DAVx5 and toggle OFF 'Manage app if unused'
> on 'Regular sync intervals', you can toggle on the slider and allow DAVx5 to run in the background. This will ensure seamless syncing.
Step 2: Add the account:
Tap the green + button towards the bottom right to add a new account.
Choose "Google Contacts / Calendar" as the login method.
Enter your Google account email address.
Tap Sign in with Google and follow the OAuth authentication process, which will forward you to the web browser (Vanadium)
Proceed to log in when forwarded to the website and allow the required permission when prompted.
Once back in the DAVx5 app, tap on Finish at the bottom left to complete the integration of your Google account.
Step 3: Configure DAVx5
Sync your Calendars:
With the account integrated, select the calendars you want to sync. Tap on the slider to turn them on (flipped to the right)
In the CalDAV tab, be sure to enable your Calendars you want to sync.
If you want to sync your contacts too, be sure to enable your Address Book (or multiple ones) In the CardDAV tab, then press the Synchronize now button towards the bottom right
Tap on Synchronize now to manually initiate syncing
Step 4: Verify the results
Open your Contacts app:
Your synced Google contacts should appear automatically.
Check your settings in your contacts app to see if you have multiple address books.
Your synced Google contacts should now be visible inside the Contacts app and the Phone app.
If you want to get your contacts out of Google’s synced address book, you can choose to export these contacts now and import them into a different address book, or transfer them to a different device by sending the newly created .vcf file over.
