Installing Apps from F-Droid Basic

  1. Open the F-Droid Basic app.

  2. Tap the Latest tab to view the most recent apps.

  3. Tap the search icon in the bottom-right corner.

  4. Tap the search bar that appears at the top.

  5. Type the name of the app you want to install.

  6. Tap the app you wish to install from the search results. Use a key-phrase like “music” or the specific name of the app.

  7. Tap Install on the app’s page.

  8. Wait for the app to finish downloading.

  9. When prompted, tap Install again to begin installation.

From this same popup, you can choose to grant or deny Network permission. Consider whether the app needs internet access. This permission can be changed later.

  2. Once installed, tap Open to launch the app.

  3. You can also access the app from your App drawer.

F-Droid apps are typically safe and privacy-friendly. Each listing highlights any anti-features, such as ads or tracking, so you can make informed choices before installing.
